“If you want to find someone, you should go do it.” The words were sour on Hizashi's tongue, but he knew it was the right thing to say. With one caveat. “Tomorrow, though, when it’s not my birthday! You’re not allowed to blow me off tonight, no matter how hot the guy is,” he joked, hoping that Aizawa wouldn’t recognize the emotions underneath.
Of course, because Aizawa could never simply appreciate the sacrifices Hizashi made for him, he just sighed and frowned. “I don’t think it’ll work like that for me,” he said. “Nobody would be… interested.”
“Uhhh, have you seen yourself? I mean, after a shower, not after three solid days of patrolling and sleeping in alleys. You’re hot, man.”
“It’s not about that, it’s… never mind.”
Ok, now Hizashi was curious. “What?”
“Nothing.”
“Come oonnnn, you can tell me! What are best friends for!”
“It’s… personal.”

Summary
Bob had come to the conclusion that he despised himself. He must. There was no other reason why he would let Herschel treat him the way he did. It certainly wasn’t because he loved the man. There was nothing to love. Herschel, who thrived on emptiness, had nothing to give anyone. Nothing of value, anyway. Hollow jokes good only for a cheap laugh and to be forgotten moments later. Alcoholism that reduced him to a sputtering fool, unable to do anything but cry or fuck. Drug addiction that devoured the soul by the second, eating away at the morsels left inside the broken clown. Women he could use and throw away, believing he was breaking hearts when really the only heart he wounded was his own. If he even had one. He was pathetic. A sham. In layman's terms, a loser. A man like Herschel was gum under his shoe. Garbage littering the sidewalk. Disposable. Worthless. Nothing.
Yet here they were, entangled in a web of wicked lust with Bob as the fly and Herschel as the spider.
