“I’m tired,” the little girl complains, skating from the group to hug Hollander’s knees.
Hollander huffs a quiet laugh. “Grandma will be here soon,” he says, picking her up, sitting her perfectly on his hip. She lays her head on his shoulder, and they look so alike, it's startling.
“Is that—Hollander,” Ilya says with disbelief. Hollander freezes, turning to look at Ilya. His brown eyes are wide, and he looks just as surprised as Ilya feels. “Is that your daughter?”
__Shane abruptly quits hockey and disappears off the face of the earth without a trace. When Ilya moves to the Centaurs, the last person he expects to see is Shane teaching a bunch of kids how to skate and play hockey with his daughter in tow.
