Summary
No one truly knew how it all started.
Perhaps the virus had been leaked by terrorists. Maybe the lingering threat of global warming had caused a dormant virus to finally break free and wreak havoc. Perhaps the virus was an experiment conducted by Umbrella, just like the survivors would later claim. Perhaps it was just simply chance and circumstance, the way most things happen. Just another pandemic.
Honestly, it didn’t even matter.
Because no matter how quickly the virus spread, fear spread even faster.

“We can’t stay here forever.”
That's what Eddie had said, or what Waylon had assumed - had hoped - was an hallucination brought on by the events at Mount Massive Asylum for the Criminally Insane.
He'd seen Eddie die; had seen the lights dim in his pale, pale eyes and watched the blood drain from his body.
It was funny, but back there, in the crumbling Victorian halls of Mount Massive, ghosts had been the very furthest from Waylon’s mind. But here, in this broken shell of a house, with the wind howling outside and the dying embers casting a ghostly glow over the room, he found he could believe it.
But then, if Eddie was an hallucination, a ghost, then who had brought him out here?

For MetalTango Week 2025, Day 6: Gun Play
When his check engine light lit up like the 4th of July, Leon knew he had to stop somewhere.
The Heat Wave Motel, the sign said, with a large stylized wave underneath. It was a relic of times past, a piece of mid-century Americana that beckoned him in. He could just imagine it in its prime, hosting its fair share of clean cut travelers, which was a sharp contrast to the disarray it found itself in now. It was dirty, derelict, and Leon honestly had to wonder what kind of people would stay in a rat’s nest like this voluntarily.
And yet, a chance encounter on that desert highway led Leon to the hottest night of his life.

For MetalTango Week 2025, Day 3: Somnophilia
During a stop on their journey through Amparo, Leon found himself captivated by a sleeping Krauser.
He was just supposed to look, but now he couldn't stop. Krauser seemed so much more approachable like this, fast asleep, laid out for him to touch, and as much as he tried to resist, it was getting harder by the second.

For MetalTango Week 2025, Day 1: Fantasy vs. Reality
The whole building was disturbingly loud in its silence. He knew it to be abandoned, yet it seemed alive in some unsettling way, like the whole thing was breathing. Occasionally it would hold its breath so he could hear the creature moving heavily somewhere deep within the building, just to prove to him that he wasn’t alone.
And didn’t he know it.
The creature was going to hunt him down tirelessly until it got its pound of flesh.

In Raccoon City, the Tyrant gets a hold of Leon. Years later, he’s hunted again.

Summary
As a child Waylon Park had been taught the two basic fear responses; fight or flight.
In Mount Massive he'd used flight, running whenever someone came for him, hiding whenever he could. He didn't know about the third response - fawning. To be meek and submissive, doing what the predator wanted in an effort to keep safe.
Why would he? The closest Waylon had ever been to a predator - a true predator - was safely observed though glass or bars.
Not lost in its very lair.

Summary
They met in South America, and now the extract of a South American flower will bring them back together in the most literal, intimate sense. It's damn near poetic.
At least Krauser seems to think so.

Summary
The two of them were nothing but a conduit for their true desire, a weak comparison, and Krauser had to wonder if Ada's mind was somewhere else with Leon.
Just like his was.

Summary
For the entirety of Leon's so-called career, he'd been focused on ending bio-terrorism the only way they knew how; by killing. Meanwhile, a promising scientist, Anya Kalashnik had focused her own research on a cure. Her work had shown immense promise, all but reversing the cellular damage brought on by any of the known strains of viruses Umbrella and all those after Umbrella’s fall had unleashed on the world. She had been so close to a cure, and -
And then she had disappeared.
Not only did that not bode well for a potential cure, but if she could achieve something like that, then what kind of horrors could she unleash if guided by the wrong hands?

Summary
Night had fallen on the island, chilly gusts of ocean wind blowing straight through Leon’s clothes. He’d found a narrow ledge overlooking one of the military facilities, and Leon scanned the area through his binoculars, telling himself that he was making a plan, and not just seeking a reprieve from the cold.
He'd barely started lowering his binoculars when the knife was on his throat.

Summary
Leon had tried more than once to tell himself that he hated Krauser. Hated the knowing smirk and his unnerving eyes that saw entirely too much. But there was a rush of blood to his groin and a punch to his gut that told him that was far from the truth.

Everything used to be so clear.
Everything used to be neatly sorted into different boxes in his mind, never to be moved around.
And then Leon came.

Summary
No more than 48 hours ago, Leon had been ready to go on a long-awaited vacation, far away from it all. 24 hours ago, he’d watched Ada die. Now he was being lead down anonymous looking hallways by the man he up until ten minutes ago thought was dead.
And in the back of his neck were three little numbers that had been branded into his skin, marking him as Krauser's property.

Summary
It was just for the summer, Leon kept telling himself. Just a brief change of pace and a way for him to earn some cash. God knew he needed it.
Still, he couldn’t help that he was anxious. Life on some farm out in the sticks of Georgia, ha, how’d he get himself in this mess? Summer could not end soon enough.

Summary
It started with a cough.
It wasn’t that unusual, it was autumn, and a lot of Waylon’s friends and co-workers were out sick with colds. There was no reason to suspect this would be any different. After all, things like that didn’t happen. Not to people like the Park’s. Not to people with well-manicured lawns and proper, furnished homes. These things happened to other people.
Except, deep down, he knew that it had happened to them as well.

Summary
It would be a lie to say he hadn’t thought about it.
Perhaps it was all in the heat of the moment, that potent mixture of adrenaline and dopamine, fear and pleasure. Perhaps it was in how they moved, with near blind rage and mindless determination.
Inhuman, because that’s what they were.
He’d never act on it, even if he could. Would never, ever, admit to it. Not to anyone. It was Leon’s shameful little secret, and one that had kept him up at night, more than once.

Summary
Deacon knew going to Skizzo's cabin was a bad idea. Nothing good could ever come from it. But in the moment, blood boiling with anger, there was nothing rational about Deacon's actions.
