Riftan had always been worried that his wife might seek his inadequacies in other men.
Granted, it got better. He was guilty of waiting, trying to see if his wife would fall in love with a man who was faster, smarter, stronger than him. Such a time never came. Over time, Riftan was just glad Maxi had people she could relate to in regards to magic.
Such ugly feelings reared their head once again, all in the form of that blond haired wizard.
