He looked up at the towering figure, trying to muster up the pleading eyes that usually made the god cave. Anubis reached down to ruffle his avatar’s hair lovingly, but his expression remained stern. Steven sighed, and looked down at his feet.
“Understood.”

Anubis had chosen a boy with a soul as bright as the sun, and swore to protect him for eternity.
