He digs into a green box that was set aside and pulls out a toy—bigger than the last. Immediately, tips pour in like crazy, and Sae’s chest clenches in anticipation. He watches as his fingers teasingly lube up the dildo, and someone every rake of Pinkdemon99’s nails is getting closer and closer to bricking him up. Honestly, he was starting to get why people were watching this shit—it was too easy to fantasize that they were in the place of the toy, even though there was no chance in hell of that happening. “Then you’re losing.     The girl glares daggers at him from behind a pair of red-rimmed glasses too big for her tiny face. She’s looking at him like he’s totally crazy, which isn’t entirely untrue. “Huh? Who the heck are you?”

    In lieu of answering, he asks, “What’s your name?”

    The girl scowls. “Maki.”

    “Maki,” he repeats, and it’s like a missing piece of his soul falls back into place. The record of his life before he fought the Six-Eyes brat is a long, impossibly white scroll of nothing -- but written on it in faint letters is the name of a child, a child with a delicate name that brushed the heavens, spun a prayer into letters; a name that began with an M, and it ended in i, too.

    “Maki,” he says again. “I think you’re my daughter.”

Baji doesn’t trust many things—least of which his lens-less eyes—yet he touches something in Chifuyu that makes him unable to look away, and Chifuyu has been frostbitten—a lifetime on ice regardless—yet he wards off the heat. Sultry summer mornings melt into crispy winter nights and the same touch that crowned Chifuyu soon crucifies him.

    Or, firefighter meets firestarter, and they barely notice how fateful their slow dance in such a burning room is.
