Summary
Both Hiccup and Jack have had hard lives. Distant fathers, absent mothers. Hiccup falls in with the wrong crowd and Jack doesn't know how to make friends and being forced out of the closet did not help. Now that fate has forced them together this year at Bella Academy, maybe things will be different. Maybe they can be each others sunshine.

He unzipped the backpack and started rifling through it. But before he could get anywhere, he heard footsteps outside the door, and a light clicking sound, announcing Deku's immediate return.
"FUCK."
Piercing dread stabbed Katsuki in the stomach, and with his mind in crisis mode, his body didn't know what else to do but to fling himself into Deku's closet, in hopes that he wouldn't be caught snooping around in his rival's bedroom.
His body made this choice before his mind could catch up with him, and the minute he'd hidden himself in Deku's closet, he heard the owner of the room step inside. With his heartbeat hammering in his ears, he realized, stricken, that Deku wasn't alone. He'd brought Todoroki with him.
Katsuki stilled his movements as best he could, terror seizing him at the realization that this was quite possibly the worst-case scenario he could have asked for. He had to get out of here, and fast. Forget his English notebook; he needed to escape this horrific situation without Deku or Todoroki realizing he was trapped in this room with them.
