Stiles should be happy.
He should be happy, he should be fucking delighted—there’s a bottle of champange being uncorked, hands being shaken, a too-hearty clap on his back that jolts him forward and causes him to stumble slightly. But the space in his chest that usually burns with the high of a closed deal is hollow, empty, and the twinkling gold Christmas lights one of the secretaries had hung in the office mock him, a depressing reminder that he’s about to be alone for the holidays.
It feels like I don’t know you anymore, was the last thing Derek had muttered to him, standing in the threshold of what had been their apartment, backpack slung over one shoulder and duffle bag strap clenched in his fist. I can’t do this.

Deaton has instructed that for the next 24 hours Derek can't use his hands after he seriously injures them in a magical entrapment. Seeing the emotional hurt that Derek's selfish pack has inflicted on him when they argue and try to get out of it, Stiles volunteers to stay and then proceeds to give the rest of them a verbal ass-kicking. He then takes care of his friend, the Alpha, Derek Hale, while trying to work out what his feelings are towards the werewolf.

Sure, Hale Industries took up an entire floor in one of the downtown financial buildings, but the place was new and easy to care for. He didn’t even have to spend much time cleaning the huge corner office, because the trash was nearly always empty and the office itself was spotless, like no one used it.
It was basically the perfect college job. At least, until the boss started staying late.

Alright, a brief summary: Derek was given to Stiles as payment for his family's debt Talia could not pay when it was due. He truly expected the worst when being shipped off to a family who had their hand's in every branch of the organized crime from her to San Francisco, despite being led by an eighteen year old boy. He had been given trousers and a collar who would force his new owner's will on him. What good could ever come from that.
But Derek had been given a room, a family and every kind of support he had not even dared to dream of being worth receiving after the fire and Kate's betrayal. In the end, his mother had been able to come up with the money and had offered to buy him back. Stiles had chosen Derek as the messenger to deliver the money to the pack that would not get him as a member. And Derek had chosen.We are starting in the very same night. Let's see how the story continues.
