Summary
Circuit City isn't as pretty as the tourists make it out to be. It's just another shit town and about as run down as it gets. There's not a single alleyway where there isn't a shadow lurking in the dark-- which is why Jax wanted to get out of this hell hole. He was almost there. He could've had it all. But who needs friends, right? He just needed to finish one more race and then he'd ride into the sunset. Never to be seen again. But of course the demons of his past had to catch up to him, threatening to take the lead. Though he finds help along the way, the truth he must finally face will be one he must endure alone.

"Ha-ha, very funny." He hands her card back after putting in her order on the computer. "Well, my names Jax. The best barista here~" He smiles with his eyes closed, pressing his fingers against his chest to present himself loudly and boost his ego. She giggles in response with a soft smile, making something inside him flutter, something he's never felt before.

In a world where Jax was essentially some crooked ringmaster's doll, it was nice to have a doll of his own to "play" with. He shows up into Pomni's room, dominates her, and then he leaves. There's nothing more to it, so why does he feel frazzled when Pomni winds up choosing that crocodile NPC over him during an adventure? Jax doesn't know, but what he does know is that he's determined to lay down some consequences for her by the end of it.
