They were both standing by the coffee machine, the mugs Alice had gotten out after Gwen had dropped hers already going cold, surely. She took a deep breath, and turned to look at Gwen.

The lights in the building, all on a timer, turned off simultaneously. Alice was quick to her feet and quicker to the ground after stumbling over her own chair. She got up wordlessly, then muttered something about the chair being in on it.
Gwen hesitated as she searched for her purse while using her phone flashlight. “I–I’m not really ready to be done talking about this. Can I give you my phone number, or-”
“Me either. Just come to my flat. I have drinks and a pull-out,” Alice said in the wrong direction, blindly groping around for her own bag.
Gwen thought to refuse, thought about it quite a bit, but she didn’t feel like walking home by herself anyway, and a drink sounded nice. She shone her flashlight on Alice’s bag, far away from where she had been looking, and scoffed at the “ah” sound she heard.Bookmarked by Speaking_Fluent_Sarcasm

Who seemed to genuinely appreciate the mocha.
