Summary
Noctis never recovers from the Marilith attack, thus leaving Bahamut no other choice but to bestow upon Carbuncle a simple job: summon a King of Kings from an alternative timeline. How was Carbuncle supposed to know that such a seemingly easy task would turn out to be anything but?
The Eos those summoned by Carbuncle wake up to is similar to their own, but different enough to leave some — more than others — floundering. Do they choose to continue their destiny, or will they fight fate to restore the light another way?

Akaza was utterly captivated by Kyojuro. Everything about the Hashira was brilliant, burning, and beautiful, and he could not bring himself to extinguish that flame. But to heal him? To seek out his company without the guise of a fight to hide behind? Akaza would have to be a fool to do such a thing.
But what was harboring love for an enemy but foolishness persevering?

Kyojuro awoke from his confrontation with Waxing Moon Three whole and unharmed. It was considered a miracle, a stroke of luck that he'd gotten just enough demonic blood in his system to heal him and not turn him, but Akaza's nighttime visits quickly dispelled him of that notion. The demon had saved him, but why?
Fondness. Akaza held a devotion and care for him that he did not previously believe demons capable of. When Kyojuro learned the extent of how far the demon was willing to go for him, he couldn't help but feel the same.
It was so rare for someone to protect Kyojuro in return.

Summary
Muzan’s hatred for the Rengoku lineage was eclipsed only by his desire to see Kagaya’s wretched progeny wiped off the face of the earth. He’d quickly decided that Kyojuro was the worst of the lot, the infuriating apotheosis to a bloodline that had stood in his way since before it had a name.
