Summary
Ren squeezed out the last of the Nohar-M tube into his hand (he’d have to make this one stretch) and spread a palm over Ryuji’s stomach. Ryuji let his eyes flutter shut at the sensation of a kind hand and cool gel. The silence, however, was unnerving. His throat went tight.
“H- hey,” He managed, “Whatever you’re pissed about can you… can you just yell and get it over with? I don’t— I don’t know why you’re mad at me but I don’t want to fight.”
“… I’m not mad,” Ren said, very very quietly, “And I’m not going to yell.”
“You seem mad…”
“I’m worried.”
That was rare. Ren never worried. Or at least never said he was.
When a Palace collapses, it signifies its place in the Metaverse combining with its rightful place in the real world. The line between cognition and reality becomes blurred, and unfortunately for Ryuji, that means getting caught in a very real explosion.
