Hawke gingerly stroked Fenris’s green and glowing palm, then looked up at him with wide eyes. “Well, I guess that’s the end of our years in hiding, isn’t it?”
Fenris surreptitiously looked around. Everyone in Haven was staring at them, from the quartermaster to the soldiers and the refugees and the Chantry sisters.
He hunched his shoulders defensively. “So it seems,” he grunted. He didn’t like being stared at, and he never had. But with this blasted magical mark on his hand, it didn’t seem that he had much choice in the matter.
Little did Fenris realize that being stared at was going to be the least of his problems.

IN A NUTSHELL: Fenris is the Inquisitor, and is not very pleased about it. Rynne Hawke, on the other hand, loves making new friends.

Fenris is still Danarius's slave, having never escaped, having never met Hawke in Kirkwall. He ends up in the Fade after a lyrium experiment gone wrong, while Hawke gets stuck there shortly after his encounter with Nightmare. Now they must work together, as strangers to each other, to try and escape their doomed fate.

She's a Cousland, he thinks bitterly, she shouldn't be rolling around bedrolls with Antivan Crow Elf Assassins. It is maybe the worst thought he has ever had.
