Summary
With Arthur broken and bleeding out, John makes a deal with the King in Yellow to spare him. John rejoins the King in exchange for Arthur's safety. However, the King is treacherous, and John learns too late that the King had no intention of truly honoring their deal. When the King brings Arthur back to his city to force John's continued cooperation, Arthur is powerless to watch as his friend is slowly reabsorbed into the King in Yellow.
