Summary
Christmas Eve may not be the best time for a funeral, but at least Tim won't have to deal with a lot of people. His parents are dead, and he's alone, and his Uber driver didn't show.
Mr. Wayne did.
An examination of grief, and maybe, what it means to step up.

Summary
"His vision blurred.
Bruce froze.
Then something warm slipped down his cheek.
He missed him.
God—he missed him.
Bruce Wayne sat alone in the dark, quietly crying over a man he only got to have in dreams."

Summary
Roy leans a little forward. “Bud? Are you alright?”
And the embarrassment creeps back in.
“Just - was wondering if you were leaving soon.” Tim clears his throat and it scrapes him up, choking on gravel. “I could use a lift.”
“You don’t have a ride?” Roy asks gently.
Oh, please don’t ask me that question. He did at one point, but he left him in the hallway where the music doesn’t reach, probably waiting for Tim to come back with muttered apologies insincere on his lips - or to slap him in the face, or something. He’s really trying not to do either here.

Summary
Tim’s good arm hit the desk a little louder than Jason was comfortable with. “You fucking psycho, I’ll do as I please. Go to hell.”
Finally fed up, Tim stood up straight, very clearly distressed. He jerked his backpack onto his right shoulder and left before Jason could finish saying, “Just finish your work, please.”
And that was how you royally fuck up as a teacher. God, Jason wanted to scream, but he still had a couple of seniors left, still packing up to leave, their eyes wide at the scene that just unfolded. In his head, he’d already started drafting an incident report email to the head school counselor, as well as CCing the two vice principals.
“Have a good day.” Jason weakly mumbled, before collapsing at his desk chair and covering his face.
