Tommy narrowed his eyes, wrinkled his nose, and it was his turn to examine behind the stranger. There was a horse in the clearing, with several bundles of clothes on it.
“Is Phil the horse? He doesn’t look sick to me, though I’m not an expert. I don’t do horse bodies as well as I do human bodies though,” Tommy said, considering.
“What, no,” the man said. “The horse is Carl. This is Phil,” he said, and plucked the crow right off his shoulder to hold him at eye height.
“Oh you smarmy little fucker,” Tommy said, eyes narrowing. “You knew exactly what you were doing when you stole those berries.”

Summary
"Philza has two kids, and they’re both piglins. Some, particularly other avians, would wonder why his adopted children are not of the feathery kind. Avians have a very strong sense of flock, Phil knows. However, he doesn’t feel any differently flock-wise with two piglin children, than he would if they were avian. To be honest, Phil thinks piglins have rather similar nesting habits to avians anyway. He’s still learning every day though, and he promises to continue to do so. No matter how difficult or confusing it can get, he loves his kids, and he always will."
Or, the one where the Crowfather Philza adopts a few kids, then a few more, and then forms a little village and flock for himself. A fluffy hybrid AU!

“I already told you,” the pinkette grit out, eyes shut forcefully, “I am not hibernating this year. I have every year up until now, so there should be no problem if I skip one. I should know. After all, I’m the only person in this entire room who has to lose 2 months over some stupid trait evolution forgot to take out.”
“I don’t want you to die, Techno.” Tommy’s voice broke through the tension in the air. It was stable and quiet, but Tommy refused to look at him, the blonde’s back to Techno.
“I don’t want you to pass out and die because you’re too stubborn to do what you have to.”
