Edwin and Charles find themselves in the midst of a vicious and unjust trial when Edwin is accused of witchcraft by the church and law of their small parish in rural England. Something grinds along the essence of this world, things seem out of place. Someone is trying to teach them a lesson. But isn't it one that they already understand?

Raising Edwin's clone was never part of the job description, but Edwin and Charles have been managing (mostly). But now that Henry is a toddler, Edwin suggests that what their little family really needs is a clone of Charles to round them out. Charles is skeptical but he loves Edwin so...why not, right? When our year and a day has concluded, ownership of your soul will fall to me, whereupon I am obligated to drag you to the appropriate level of Hell. That would be Lust, for the uninformed, which I highly suspect you are,” the demon finishes.
Charles takes all that in for a second, grappling with the idea that if Pain isn’t lying, then Charles is set to spend the rest of a very long eternity in Hell.
Crystal is gonna fucking kill him.
