Lost in the woods, Damon stumbles upon Elena, who looks mysteriously like his long lost love. Intrigued, he takes her back to his house where he quickly decides to keep her.
Alternatively, the one where Damon is an emotionally stunted vampire that thinks kidnapping a girl will make her fall in love with him. Not as dark as you might guess. Lots of angst, but definitely will have a happy ending.
