Summary
J has had an accomplished career. She was such a good jobber. If the slain were stocks, J was the entire exchange. And exchange she did, countless lives and even entire planets for the promise that her team would survive intact, physically at least, until...until...until...
It was not the most pleasant of deals, and no one on her team was really happy with it, or each other, but it kept them all alive, together, and with some semblance of themselves. It endured until that Uzi creature somehow tricked N and eliminated J, then corrupted V as well. A major setback, but if J just redoubled her efforts to add value, surely she could negotiate for her teammates, or at least for herself, that she might stay on the winning team. There was no chance they could beat Cyn.Except they did. J made the safest possible bet and lost. There's no more Cyn, no more purpose, no one who even pretends to want her around. There's nothing left for her, except a ship to repair. But there's nowhere to take the ship to. In the flickering light of a torch, there's at long last a choice.

Summary
J, the human, has organized a evening party (for humans) alongside her siblings (also human, also not biological siblings) hosted at the manor owned by Tessa the Human. Uzi, Doll, and Lizzy are among the human guests. Cyn isn't at the soiree; she's in the basement doing whatever creepy stuff she gets into down there. V and Tessa are puzzled by her absence, J is somehow simultaneously relieved and annoyed by it, and N is saddened enough to go fetch the ball of sunshine (who never actually sees the Sun). He should not have done that. She was counting on it. Cyn was planning on coming to the party anyway, when everything was in place. N comes back, changed. There is only one thing he wants to do. And six people he wants to do it with. They'd rather not, at least not like this. But Cyn loves N, N loves doing anything, and the girls will love N, no matter how long it takes. (Not very long. Giggle).

Summary
Serial Designation J is, to put it mildly, the best of Tessa's rescued drones. Her methods and practice improvements have revolutionized life at the Elliot Manor, and she even gets begrudging compliments from Tessa's unsympathetic parents. The only things J struggles with are bringing the other drones up to her high standards and getting as much of Tessa's attention as she deserves. Luckily both of those have resolved themselves: the other drones stand frozen in the library, or sit tied to a tree outside. Now, J and Tessa stand before the doors of the banquet hall hosting the gala dinner, sword and gun in hand. All that's left is to enter, deal with whatever Cyn is, and J will save the day, finally win over the Elliots, and have Tessa all to herself.
It doesn't work out that way.

Tremendous emulation of the mid-20th century British novel style, with even the moralizing of the narrator done in a way more enjoyable than the original story.
It really elevates it beyond the idea of an spoiled outcast enacting revenge against everyone. -

Summary

Easily one of the best, if not the best, crossover fics I've read.
It does justice to both works, even (or perhaps especially) if one was unfamiliar with either of them (as I was with Worm) while still possessing and flaunting its own style and worldview.
The integration of the two is (so far) seamless, and feels natural within the terms of the story and the world it's built.
The upload cadence is mental. I've been waiting for them to miss a tick since November and they haven't done so yet.
