Summary
A god watches the Hail Mary burn into Adrian's atmosphere, it ruined one reality, perhaps it can save this one. Simon is reality shifted onto the Hail Mary just before it arrives at Tau Ceti to fill the role of pilot and complete the trio. How can he explain his presence to Dr. Ryland Grace when Simon himself doesn't understand how he got here? Can he prevent the ship from crashing and help Grace and Rocky save the stars?
The incompletion of the trio bugged me and the parallels are too good so here.

Summary
Ryland was aware, in the back of his mind, that he would never see another human again from the moment he realized just how far away from Earth he was when he woke up on the Hail Mary. It took a long time for him to acknowledge it, to accept what his subconscious already knew. Even when he tried to go back to Earth before having to rush back to save Rocky, part of him knew he'd never make it. Slowly, ever so slowly and painfully, he accepted the reality of isolation.
Simon was aware, in the back of his mind, that he would never see another human again from the moment he was pushed into that fucking submarine. It took a long time for him to acknowledge it, to accept what his subconscious already knew. Even when Ava came down to get him out of the blood ocean, part of him knew he'd never make it. He held onto hope as long as he could manage, but in the end, he accepted death, because he had no choice.
Well, thanks to Simon, Ryland's not isolated. And thanks to Ryland, Simon's not dead. And Rocky's here too! Yay!

Could-Secure-Our-Survival Smart.
