When Loki begs for her life, his earnestness is mistaken for lust. Odin spares the stranger known as Laufeydottir on the condition she makes herself useful in the royal palace by day...and in his son's chambers by night. As she warms to him in the intervening days, Sylvie reveals the binding nature of the inky black runes encircling her wrists. She eventually invites him to share her bed, but she isn't ready to share her heart. Or her plans to escape. Loki would follow her anywhere--even to the end of all things--if only he can free her from her bonds before she destroys herself.
