    On his tenth birthday, Harry Potter makes a wish. The surge of magic it releases is absorbed by the Horcrux in his scar, which allows it to awaken and manifest within Harry's shadow. Harry of course has no idea what's going on. To him, it feels like a miracle. Magic is real, and he somehow has a mysterious mentor eager to teach him. Under the guidance of his demanding but helpful shadow, Harry begins a secret magical education, uncovering powers he never dreamed possible. Yet the Horcrux is the one choosing what he learns, quietly steering him toward ambition and darkness. What plan lies behind its lessons? And what role does Harry play in it? One thing is certain - life at the Dursleys just got a whole lot more interesting.

    Book 1 of a planned series. Book 2 will begin at Hogwarts.

    One day, Harry decides he is done with it all. Decides he cannot live in that house anymore, and instead ventures to another.

    It was set slightly farther back than the houses beside it---the houses which had just been where this house was---and was made of a dark, almost black brick. Even the door was a dark black, with a great, silver knocker that appeared to be a metal mould of some sort of shrunken head.

    The door creaked slightly open, revealing a wrinkly house elf, wearing a white cloth of some sort.
