Slow updates possibly, because I have trauma with DV myself. This fic started as a project to help me work through my trauma, but after I got a little tipsy and decided to post it on TikTok a lot of people wanted to read this fic. I hope this finds someone who will enjoy reading as much as I will enjoy writing, but due to how close to home the abuse aspect is, it might be a while between chapters. But I promise I won't abandon it, and will still post as regularly as I can. This fic is too important for me to just abandon 🤗 Y'all just might have to bear with me.
Also some of the chapters are REALLY long lol so it takes a while to edit them.

“What if—” His voice cracked like old linoleum. He stared at Mike’s profile — the sharp nose, the bitten lip — and plunged. “What if you… looked?”
Mike went so still he might’ve stopped breathing. The basement’s single bulb flickered overhead, casting jagged shadows across his frozen expression. “L-looked?” he rasped.
“At me.” Will’s fingers trembled where they gripped his own knees. The denim was rough under his nails. “Down there. To—to tell me if it’s…” The word ugly dissolved on his tongue.
Mike made a sound like a wounded animal. His Adam’s apple bobbed violently.
“Jesus, Will. I can’t just—” His hands fluttered helplessly before clenching into fists. A drop of sweat slid down his temple. “That’s—fuck. That’s private.”
Will hunched forward, elbows on his knees. The hole in the couch gaped wider beneath him, stuffing spilling out like guts. “More private than the entire Party knowing my sex life?”
or: Will asks Mike to take a peek down there, to find out why his boyfriend doesn't give him oral sex.

Mike and Joyce could only watch as the soldier picked Will up like a motionless doll and threw him in the back of a bloodied Jeep, the only car that was left upright. Joyce flinched at the sound of Will’s body hitting the floor of the vehicle. The engine growled to life, tearing through the silence.
It disappeared into the passageway to the Upside Down, diving into the cold and cruel world Will once escaped from.
There was no catching up to them now.

Summary
It’s her, he thinks, feeling half-crazy with elation, it’s really her.
He runs up to her, placing his hands on shoulders only for them to phase through her like sand. Still, the touch seemingly alerts her, and she looks around herself, confused. Then, seemingly reaching a realization, she closes her eyes and suddenly, she’s solid and real and staring at him like she’s just seen a ghost. He thinks he has a similar look on his face.
“Will, what?” she says, looking him up and down like she can’t believe him. “You can’t be here.”
“I searched for you,” he says, tracing the shape of her arms with his hands. Holy shit, she’s real. “I didn’t know you survived. I’m so glad–”
“Stop.” She pushes him away, eyes angry and cold, a look he’s never felt directed at him before. It gives him shivers just seeing her. “Stop looking for me. I can’t ever be found. And you can never tell them I lived. Do you understand? They can never know.”
Three months after El sacrifices herself and the Upside Down is lost forever, Will Byers finds his sister in a void of empty space.
