Well, maybe with a snide comment or two about how stupid what they were doing was, which would always go ignored, but that was really just a part of his feeble attempts to keep his friends (and himself) from getting into trouble in the first place.

They had a few other friends who normally joined them, but that afternoon, those friends were nowhere to be found, and the two liked it that way. They each felt that the other’s company was more than enough, maybe even forever. One of these two teenagers was named Frank Iero, and the other was yet unnamed. Not really, of course, a name was used to describe this teenager, to address the person attached to it, but it didn’t fit. It wasn’t the right name.

Then Frank Iero waltzed back into her life, and he was just as lovely as he was when she ran away from the whatever-it-was they had in high school, and that was a big problem for her and her spinster-at-twenty-three way of life. What’s a poor girl to do?
Fall back in love, probably.In which Illi battles with her self-destructive habits, Frank plays at least one Smashing Pumpkins song, Mikey is a meddling, conniving little brother, and Ray just wants everyone to get along again.

“Katsuki, you recently moved to Russia to train with your coach Victor Nikiforov,” Yuuri’s not sure why reporters need to tell him things that he already knows, but he’d rather not deal with Minako yelling at him over Skype so he just nods, and the reporter—Shana?—continues, “what do you like the most about training at Yubileyny?”
“Well the facilities are amazing…” Yuuri switches to autopilot and recites the list of training resources that Victor had galloped through after the Grand Prix Finals—when he mistakenly thought that Yuuri needed any incentive to move to Russia other than Victor himself.
He must answer the question well enough because she just nods along to some beat that Yuuri can’t hear. “What’s your least favorite thing about training in Russia?”
The answer bursts out of him before he has any time to consider a diplomatic alternative, “Victor’s driving.”
(Things escalate from there.)

The world feels like boiling water. Like the fake water on the road in front of them, hazy, tar-sticky. So hot it’s fucking unreal.
It’s been hot for weeks, July heat swelling like a cloud of flies over roadkill, but today it’s stupid hot. It came with the rising of the day, or maybe they’d driven into it, tour bus pointed directly down south, south, south. All Gerard knows is the rolling road beneath him, the clunky hum of stale air from the AC unit that doesn’t quite reach where he’s collapsed inside his bunk, and the vague awareness of other bodies scattered around the bus, raising the ambient temperature and making every surface stick.
Fuckin’ gross.
