Aaron's spent his life getting ribbed on by army boys and putting bullets through anything with eyes like this kid. A lifetime of fronting. He's not going turn into some little pussy now just because his knee's shot.
“You don't talk like you were made in a test tube,” he shoots back.
Robert pauses, eyes flickering. They really are feline, Aaron thinks, the way they move, the way they look out at the world. Of course, feline doesn't always mean house cat.
Robert shrugs. “I have a TV.”
“Do you?” Aaron hasn't seen TV in years, there's no power outside the city walls any more.

He basically told me nothing you haven’t already heard,” Lena explained. “He said he thought you weren’t going to make it and that you were struggling to stay awake. But then… then he said when he asked for your name you didn’t give him yours.”“I didn’t?”
“No. He told me he only figured it wasn’t your name because every time he repeated it back to you, you had a burst of energy–he said he’s never seen anything like it before. It really stuck out to him.”
Eddie’s heart hammered in his chest. He knew the answer before he even asked the question.
“What name?”
“Evan,” Lena answered, looking at him with understanding in her eyes. “He said you fought so hard to stay awake and you kept repeating the name too, like it was all you could think about.”

Absolute genius, ABSOLUTE ABSOLUTE GENIUS!!!! One of my all time favorite fics, everything about it it’s perfect and the angst is *chef’s kiss* I still reread it once in a while because it’s just TOO AWESOME!
It made me cry and hope and hang to the edge of my seat and at times it frustrated me so much the fact that I had no one in my life to share it with because that’s a shame, a tragedy.
The built up and the characterization are amazingly well done and the insight on the characters as well as the adaptation of Aaron and Robert’s characters to a complete AU but still maintaining the core elements of their personalities is truly something special.
Worth the read and many many rereads. -

This fic is a masterpiece, I remember the first time I read it and omg the number of times it made me cry and feel like my heart was being squeezed, it’s honestly one of the best fics I’ve ever read.
I fear for it to be erased or lost because wow, what a ride.
Perfect scenario, beautiful writing, I love the idea of fitting Aaron and Robert’s affair era in a ESOTM AU, it’s genius and so so GOOD. Especially the way the writer managed to capture all the angst and pain and fleeting moments of calm love during the affair, the heartbreak of being a second choice to the person you love and how much meeting changed both of them and their lives. -

Amazing. Top shelf writing and exploration of character internal thoughts. I adore the dept this gives Mary and that in this one she is struggling but trying, maybe not successfully but trying anyway. Also the writing is almost poetic and very well done, beautiful and hunting and it covers a lot of motivations and backstory. I’m really excited to see where this goes.
