    Summary

Uzi Doorman's life had actually become tolerable. She had her mother back, a boyfriend, and even something close to actual friends. Of course, not everything had been perfect, but life seemed to finally be approaching some screwed-up version of normal for Uzi. Bar the malevolent, planet-eating AI stuck in her head and the unending dependency on the dwindling resource that is oil.
Unfortunately, normal isn't a thing that life on Copper-9 seems to like, and when a JCJ research ship crash-lands onto the planet, it sets into motion a chain of events that will once again drag Uzi and her friends into a battle for survival against enemies new and old.
    ---
John can’t remember much; he wouldn’t have even remembered his own name if someone hadn’t told it to him. Waking to a universe ravaged by an apocalypse that he can't even recall surviving with only a troop of machines for company. John must both unravel the true nature of his past and survive the cruel, unforgiving world that is Copper-9. But John will learn that survival may not always be worth the cost. This is no longer a world for humans, and his past is far, far more complicated than he ever could have imagined.

Pretty good, honestly. Reminds me of my own fic, but starts off a lot smoother and a lot more intriguing to the wider story. Nice of the author to incorporate SSTWL's favorite everyman main character into this even if it could've been literally any other guy with a different name, too. I'll be watching this to see how it goes, though I don't really have a lot to say yet seeing as how early on in the story it is at the time of writing this.

Max and Icon continue their journey towards Kirie as was left off by the youtube animated story of "Internecion Cube." This story functions as a canon continuation and is meant for those who want the rest of the story.

currently reading, somewhat long so I'll make sure to put an actual opinion here once I'm done! Might take a bit, though, I've got . . . things to do. Important things.

Fairly long (which I do appreciate) and is ongoing (which I also do appreciate). So far, seems top-notch and does indeed deserve its spot as one of the fics that I see recommended to people the most. The only real 'problem' is the significant length between chapters, though that would be hypocritical of me to complain about considering my own upload schedule. I personally like the episodic form that the author has chosen, it reminds me of the show and actually makes it seem shorter than it actually is. All in all, pretty good.

Z, a burned-out retail employee with a chip on her shoulder, and Noctis, an ambitious inventor with something to prove walk into a landing pod...

A few Swap AUs are already floating around, though the ratio of art/stories is skewed significantly in favor of the former. As someone who finds the idea irresistibly adorable, I figured it was only right to make Liam proud and use my power as a writer as irresponsibly as possible.

This story aims to balance canon events with my interpretation of events between episodes. Expect cannon to be altered or disregarded in some places, though I aim to stay as close to the show's original image as possible without simply retreading old ground.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Yet another VERY good piece from Vex, turning what was initially a fast-paced, comedic, cartoony show that dabbled in horror aspects into something that feels more like what an expert writer would make. Of course, as is with all fanfics, there are typos, though I only counted about three despite the significant amount of words there were. Very good ratio, I do say so myself.

I had first thought that this was over and done with when I had first read through this around New Years, but I think its safe to say that he thankfully plans on continuing this series into the eighth episode. The extreme length of the chapters is both a double-edged sword, however. On one hand, I unironically love it when its just paragraphs upon paragraphs of words in a single chapter (20,000 or so) and I can just pore over the entire thing. On the other hand, it usually takes longer to write tens of thousands of words rather than the usual 5 or so that a normal chapter has. Though, considering how the upload schedule of the other popular fics out there fail to put out anything, even when given several months to work, does kinda make that point useless.

While some other people might disagree, I do appreciate the extremely slow pace of this series. People oftentimes fail to make something like this enjoyable, but Vex has somehow managed to pack every single line with such soul that I never even thought of skipping a single word. A book can be somewhat poorly written, it can be unfunny, hell it can even be SHORT, but if its boring, then thats crossing the line. Luckily, Little (Big) Changes is none of those, and even manages to excel in almost every single category easily. I can't even find a fault with this, its just that good.

So yeah, if anyone is reading this, you should stop that and get started on this one instead.
