Stiles works at a headshop that sells a little bit of everything, including some real and not so real witchy wares. The job sucks, but he doesn’t make enough with his side gig (as, you know, a REAL witch) to get by without it. Even so, he makes his wares and sells them at various craft fairs around the area. With recent fashion trends, occult adjacent goods are more popular than ever, which certainly helps make rent each month.
Derek, meanwhile, is a very real supernatural with a very real chip on his shoulder, especially when his siblings drag him to bogus “Occult Markets” that are just spooky craft fairs filled with nonbelievers just trying to cash in on a trend. It’s even worse when he finds a real witch selling his wares where he’s not supposed to be.

When Stiles stepped inside the massive space station for the first time, it was with an uneven gait. His mechanical leg had malfunctioned during the journey, stuck straight, again, and his infant mother was wrapped to his chest. It had been a bit easier to ignore everything during the journey here, but now that he stood on the dockside, the realities came rushing in.
This would likely be Claudia's last life. Stiles himself and, as he had learned in the past weeks, the rest of humanity had only given the one to begin with. The busy port hall, full of humans and other lifeforms, suddenly drove the finality of their situation home.
