Summary
Trenchcoat Guy takes another step closer, hands held out like he’s approaching a frightened animal. “Miles, I’m your friend. I’m—okay, look, everyone is worried about you. I don’t know what’s wrong, but just come with me, and we can figure this out—”
What Miles says is: “There’s no way I’m going anywhere with you.”
What he means is: Now I know for sure that you’re lying to me. I don’t have any friends.
When Miles finds himself stuck in a world with no friends, no family, and no memories, the other Spider-people take it upon themselves to bring him home.

The blond hylian — which is a horrible way to identify since half of these strangers are blond — near Aurora pauses, hands still placed on her neck.
"Um, your horse?" The blond with the blue scarf — yeah, that’s better — echoes, frowning in confusion that many of the other strangers mimic. "This isn't your horse."
Wow. Link has never felt more disrespected in his two lives. And he had been acquainted with Revali.
"Excuse me?" He hisses, brushing off the hands of one blond to glare at the other blond. "Run that by me again?"
"This is Epona." The tallest of them cuts in, taking a step forward towards Link, his thick and golden armor on him almost glowing against the sun’s rays. "She's mine."
The disrespect.
((Or the one where the Chain arrives to a new Hyrule and Time, missing his most trusted companion, plays Epona's song twice in the span of two hours, except the second time she arrives with a guest that keeps calling her the wrong name and tries to steal her. Turns out its their newest Link and Time's not sure he's a fan.))

Time wanted to keep arguing. He really did. But then Twilight somehow started humming a song he really shouldn’t have known and before Time realized it his eyes were slinking shut and sleep was dragging him under like a veil. The last thing he could remember was someone pressing something cool to his forehead, and fingers dragging through his hair.
(He could remember Saria crooning the same song, voice like a hummingbird and touch like a mother.)

Summary
Hope is what Wind holds onto. Even after he lost his parents, even after seeing how deeply that blade cut Twilight, if he does not hope, what reason is there to live for the future? It’s one of the lessons he took from his first adventure: even when everything seems lost, there is always the chance to start anew.
Wind searches for the same hope on Time’s face, and he does not find it.
As Twilight fights to survive until morning, Wind and Time only have each other for comfort as they deal with their grief - both past and present.

The ocarina that rests in a pouch at his waist begins to sing to him. It hummed a beautiful song, a haunting melody that Time had heard over and over, often in both his dreams and nightmares alike. The Song of Time.
Its beauty was painful to hear, the tune blessing his ears and his alone. No one else ever heard the song’s calls.
It only ever called to him when something had gone wrong, pleading with him to use it, just once more.
