Flynn snorts, and Yuri feels the damp wash of breath along his stomach just before Flynn’s teeth scrape against his skin. “Actually, I can say whatever I want. Commandant. Remember? I get to tell you exactly how much you’re in my thoughts.”

Flynn’s anger gives way to kindness. Yuri falls apart at the seams.
“I asked you about this scar months ago,” Flynn eventually says, voice unbelievably soft. “You said you didn’t remember where you got it from. It was obvious that you were hiding something, but I didn’t want to push things.” Flynn’s hand curls into a fist on top of him and from the tremors that follow, Yuri realises that it’s trembling. “I never would’ve imagined…”
Flynn finally looks at him. “Yuri,” he breathes. “Yuri, why didn’t you tell me?”

Like Jou, he was carrying a large backpack—stuffed to capacity, and various weapons and guns were strapped to him—on a belt, thigh straps, clipped to the pack… Awful realization struck Jou and bolted him in place.
“No. Absolutely not. You’re not coming with me.”
“Yes, I am. Listen, Jou, you said you can pull this off. And if I trust anyone, I trust you.”
Something about Yamato’s old baseball bat tied to the back of his bag made it all sink in that Yamato was serious. Willing to put himself through hell all over again for this. For a hope.OR: In a post-apocalyptic world, Jou thinks (maybe) he can fix things, and Yamato refuses to let him try alone.
