When Luna got, quite rudely, summoned by Twilight's map, she wasn't about to complain. After all, it gets her out of an event Thankfully, she was going with Twilight. The younger princess had proved quite capable in both diplomacy and combat.
Which is what Luna was expecting to need. After all, why summon two of the four most powerful ponies in Equestria, if not for a fight? What do you mean it's some weird isolated village at the edge of Equestria? That feels like a familiar story.

Senjuro looked uncomfortable, "Kyojuro Rengoku. He's my older brother. He registered as a guardian on Friday."
Holy shit. Senjuro was related to Kyojuro, the guy that broke into his home and threw up in his bathroom?

Giyuu has been alone in life for many years, dealing with all his problems solo. But with his heat nearing, he knows that he’ll need to rely on someone for the first time in so long. The only issue is that the mere thought terrifies him.
Thankfully, his mate is a very loving and patient man, who he can trust with all of his heart. After some heart-to-heart and an exchange of honesty, Giyuu shares with him an idea to benefit them both in the long run. Kyoujurou is more than happy to go along with his beloved’s whims.

In all of Kokushibou's centuries of bloodshed, the thousands of slayers felled by his hand, driven to him like lambs to the slaughter by the orders of the Ubuyashiki clan and their hopeless war, never before had they sunk so low as to send before him a child.
He looked so much like Yoriichi, all those years ago. That sweet little face looking up at him, smiling as bright as the sun, eyes shining with nothing but pure adoration as he clutched that pathetic excuse for a flute—terribly carved by the graceless fingers of a five year old—to his chest like it was some precious, perfect treasure. ‘I think about this flute you gave me as if it were you, brother.’
The demon that had once been Tsugikuni Michikatsu took his hand off his sword.
