    In the wake of a loss, a forfeit is chosen. A Spoil.

    The winning team may choose a player of their choice to host for two weeks. The purpose of the forfeit is, on paper, to inspire team bonding, camaraderie, and strengthen the skills of the budding Exy community.
    The teams see it as a way to score. Spoils are there to use, to claim, to take. To fuck.
    Hosting a forfeit is a privilege, and a challenge.

    “Andrew Joseph Minyard,” Wymack confirmed, running a nervous hand through his hair.
    No one chose Andrew. Well, once, the Terrapins had chosen Andrew, for their Spoil. He’d returned a single day later, driving their coach’s Porsche and covered in blood. When a distraught Wymack asked why he hadn’t just pressed his panic button, he looked him dead in the eye and said, “It’s not my blood.”
    No one tapped Andrew Minyard. The Trojans are about to change that.
