Summary
It burns. Fucking hell, it burns.
You find yourself standing at a stranger's doorstep, shadowed by the night sky and filled with dread from the impending sunrise. Finding use of you, he allows you in, and you take refuge in the safety of his storage closet. Warm, snug, and isolated, you're finally able to breathe.
At least until another presence comes inside to breathe alongside you. But maybe you're able to find comfort in said presence.

Summary
With your hermit-like life, it's not a surprise that when an apocalypse forcing you to interact with your kin hits, you have a hard time adjusting. The only thread tethering you to humanity is your neighbour's daughter, a lone survivor after a fire swallowed her home. You'd give life for that little girl, out of everything, she's the only one that matters. And when FEMA comes knocking, demanding ''test subjects'', you learn that sacrifice buys time. One body at a time.
Unfortunately, your luck runs out one night when a FEMA officer demands two and isn't willing to leave without them. Lucky for you, and despite your withdrawn nature, you seem to have an ally on the other side, willing to go to great lengths for you.Bookmarked by TARDIS40

Summary
He always comes at night.
Pale as death and elusive as the dark that covers him.
He smiles and speaks sweetly, yet haunts and hunts you with his being.

Summary
After an unforeseen event within his home, the Protagonist finds himself completely and utterly alone and in no way capable of defending himself against the encroaching night... and the impending arrival of the Intruder. However, he's in luck (though he wouldn't exactly call it that). The madman who has consistently shown up on the Protagonist's front door step, demanding proof of humanity, has received a gift in the form of a bullet in the shoulder, the result of a crossfire between himself and a residence of suspected Visitors. The Protagonist would much rather have anyone else in his house than that maniac (which is shocking considering his approach to people in general), but he finds himself incredibly surprised at a sudden impulse to carry on with his sad and miserable life.
