Jaskier.
He had longer hair, shoulder length and matted. His cheeks were stubbled and tear stained. His clothes were ratty, worn, and not colorful at all. His hands bandaged. And his eyes… his eyes were nervous, and… hurt. Deeply hurt. But here his bard was, alive, petting Roach and staring at Geralt.
Geralt moved forward and hugged the man to his chest without thought. He wasn’t expecting the flinch, nor for the bard to pull away, but Geralt let him go. He didn’t know what had come over him anyway.
He was happy enough just to look at the man.
“Where have you been?” He asked. “I’ve been searching for you, ever since…” he trailed off, expecting Jaskier to chime in, like he always did.
Jaskier didn’t say anything.

Geralt scrabbled around the table, throwing things aside after checking them, plates, platters, goblets, until one goblet he picked up smelled different to the rest. Strongly of wine, yes, but there was something else, something sharp that didn’t belong. He picked up more goblets, sniffing each and confirming what he was beginning to suspect. He then checked the jugs on the table until he came across the flagon Nathaniel had been using. The same sharp smell came from the wine within.
“This wine,” he presented the physician with the flagon, “It’s been poisoned.”
“The Lord’s personal supply?” the physician twitched, “Then why are all these others affected?”
“He was sharing it around,” Geralt remembered, “He –“
Geralt stopped dead. His blood ran cold.
“G-Geralt?” a small voice sounded behind him.
Geralt turned slowly, painfully, dread pitting his stomach.
“I, uh, I drank that wine,” Jaskier paled, eyes wide, “I drank it.”

Summary
After Geralt accused him of a great many things, Jaskier wandered around, not knowing what to do or who he is. One day an old friend of his convinces him to come back home and take on his responsibilietes as a viscount.
Months later Geralt accomanies Yen to a feast, where they meet a polite and professional Lord Pankratz. The are convinced he is crused. If only things where that easy.

A familiar hesitant sound reached his ears as if muffled by layers of cotton, his name, he realized as an afterthought. The noise repeated. He still couldn’t breathe. Why was everything so blurry? Oh, he was crying, right.
A gentle cautious hand was laid on his shoulder, stilling him in his frantic pacing. The touch was nothing like the rough bruising grip from before. The glaring difference was like a breath of fresh air, a lifeline thrown to him as he drowned in the deep vastness of a raging ocean.
“Jaskier?” the Witcher tried again, uncertain.

The Witcher thought he had closed that chapter of his life, but when Ciri asks questions about his friends, those stories fill her with wonder. With a little persuading, she convinces Geralt that they must find him. An Old Tune, they find, familiar and jolly. But their travels lead down the path to new Melodies, and Jaskier may hold more in him than anyone had once thought; not even himself.
(I've only watched the show so if any magic is portrayed weirdly or non canonically, forgive me!)
