    Summary

    Summary

“Lord Helion,” Eris replied crisply. The infant in his arms let out another small whine and wriggled. “Congratulations are in order.”

Helion’s brow furrowed. Eris wasn’t implying-

“Your affair with my mother bore fruit,” Eris said bluntly, lacking much of the courtly manners he usually maintained. “We cannot keep him safe at the Forest House. Father has been suspicious for some time and… we fear what my father will do to him, if he ever receives proof of his parentage, which he’s sure to get with him in the same house. We can’t guarantee what his powers will be, or who he will resemble in time.”

Eris looked down at his brother, stroking his tiny red head with his thumb. His tone softened as he gazed at the tiny babe in his arms. “Mother has already named him Lucien. I know it would mean a lot to her if you would keep his name the same. She sent you a letter explaining everything,” he nodded at the low table in the middle of the arrangement of chairs, where a folded letter appeared with a pop. “She needs you to take Lucien. Protect him, raise him how she wishes she could raise him.”

    Summary

“You think I didn't protect her?” Eris pressed. “That I didn't take blows meant for her or for my brothers? ”

A faint flicker of golden light danced along his fingers. Helion’s breath caught as he saw it.

“You left,” Eris continued, voice low but heavy with judgment. “You had a choice. I didn't.”

The magic erupted fully, a controlled blaze of bright light that shimmered across the polished stone, sharp as a blade, precise as the words that accompanied it, and so very clearly of Day.

Eris raised his hand between them, letting the light trace along his fingers. “You left us there,” he said, voice filled with centuries of restrained bitterness. “And I will not take the blame for your failure, Father.”

Or: In which the Lady of Autumn held one more secret, and Beron’s favored son was not his son at all.

    Summary

History remembers Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen. History remembers all the steps and all the years of their ungainly dance. History remembers how, in the end, their blood always warmed the Iron Throne and heralded in the Song of Ice and Fire. It is known.

It is not known, however, what would have happened if their dance had no missteps, if their union had come through earlier, and if their hatchlings took flight near the same time as the Greens. It is not known, either, what would have happened if all of their children were not simply children, but blood-of-their-blood from the future, from the far past, and even from a world gone by. There might still be a Dance, though probably not the same Dance. And in the end, those fit to remain shall remain, and those who are unneeded shall not be kept.

    Mostly Bookverse. Crack Treated Seriously.

    Summary

Pei Ming had it all: an undivided North, a pristine reputation, and zero competition.

Then the world cracked. Now, his territory is cut in half, his new neighbor is a ghost-white hermit the mortals call the “Patron Saint of Celibacy”, and—worst of all—the most popular yellow book in the three realms is a cringey, slow-burn tragedy starring: him

According to the mortals, Pei Ming isn't a powerful War God. He’s just a guy who is utterly, pathetically in love with a man who hasn't answered his calls in four hundred years.

Or: Pei Ming gets his territory stolen, his ego bruised, and his love life fan-fictioned into a disaster by the God whose only response to a declaration of war—or love—is a higher body count.
