It starts the night of their first hug.
Wednesday crawls out of bed as soon as she’s sure Enid’s asleep, stumbling towards their dorms, gritting her teeth through the pain as her skin blisters.
And she shouldn’t touch Enid, with all her color. She knows it. But Wednesday Addams cannot seem to stay away from Enid Sinclair, and she thinks that maybe dying to be able to touch Enid is worth it.In which Wednesday is actually allergic to color and refuses to tell Enid because she hates the idea of Enid changing for her. The allergic reactions continue to get worse every time Wednesday spends longer and longer in contact with Enid, until touching Enid leaves her choking for breaths.

Summary
For once she just couldn’t find it in herself to bask in the torture of watching Enid suffer. And so, she unstuck another band aid and pressed it carefully to the irritated skin, her thumb accidentally grazing over the edge of the cut.
Enid hissed at this, grasping for her elbow out of reflex, but Wednesday didn't feel any of it. Her world had already tilted over in a violent convulsion and fell backwards into the stream of time.
In honor of the already highly peculiar day, the sudden vision immediately outranked any other she had experienced so far in the categories of ‘most unnerving’, ‘atrocious’ and ‘deeply perplexing’.
First of all, she could feel soft warm sheets against her back.

Wednesday, the girl who once refused so much as a hug, not only lets Enid hug her at will now, she willingly pets and cuddles werewolf-Enid every month…and she even lets the wolf-girl sleep in her bed. It’s a sign of love and acceptance beyond anything Enid ever dreamed of. She knows, even in her less-emotionally complex wolf form, that she needs to be careful not to take advantage of it.

Okay, maybe what she hears is Saturdays are for the boys and maybe it’s from a bunch of guys with biceps the size of their heads. But she likes it enough to remember it as she strolls the rest of the way home so she can tell Beatrice.

But this quaint town and its stunning mountain views and warm bread and warmer people have become something special to her. Beatrice glided her fingers over Ava’s jaw, her chin, her cheeks, the space in between her eyebrows, as if creating a path, where beautiful landmarks came together. She noticed the light freckles on Ava’s cheeks from staying out in the sun, her dark eyelashes that would often flutter at Beatrice teasingly, and her full lips that always broke out into smiles. Ava hummed lightly as Beatrice traced her face, when Beatrice finished her path, she rested her hand on Ava’s cheek, and Ava’s eyes fluttered open. “You should do that more often,” she said, voice a little raspy, drowning in sleep, going straight to Beatrice’s core.

"Yes," Beatrice concedes. Her whole body feels tight; she wishes it wasn’t dark, that they weren’t alone, that Ava was safely far away from her again. "One time. Twenty years ago."
"I remember."
Probably not as clearly as Beatrice remembers. "That was different. I was dying. And it was Paris," she adds, like that means anything.
Maybe it does to Ava, who smiles. "I could take you back to Paris."
