His older brother is perched with his back to the scientist, head twisted around so as to catch a glimpse of him. Without his mask, the pale, flickering light of the television casts his face into a bright array of freckles, eye bags, and kindly twinkling eyes. On a perpendicular seat sits Raph, raising an invisible, unimpressed eyebrow.
“You look like shit,” the hothead comments.
“Thank you, Raphael,” he grumbles, managing a half-hearted, bleary glare.

OR: tunnel-visioned on his work, donnie stays up a bit too late, and faces the consequences—all thanks to a couple of extremely annoying brothers.

It should’ve been a normal day. Donnie and his brothers were fighting the purple dragons, kicking butt and taking names. Or they had been, until the roof collapsed. From what? He didn’t know, don’t ask. All he knew was that now he was trapped and had about every injury under the sun.
This was not normal to say the least. In fact, this could probably go down at the worst day in history if you asked him. (Don’t ask him—he’s still in shock.)
Or, Donnie is injured, suffering and concussed for 4k words
