Pantalone’s hand climbs the line of the leather harness, teasing at the collar around Dottore’s throat. A finger slides beneath the ring. “The well-fed man does not understand the wants of the hungry, doctor.”
Perhaps not. But Dottore can see the hunger enclosed in Pantalone’s eyes. Endless and insatiable, it devours the violet of his irises, swelling out from the yawning maws of ink-dark pupils.
