"It reminds me of home." Zach says, and Owen's heart threatens to split in two. He remembers that feeling; that deep, ingrained need to be surrounded by the sound of the ocean and the smell of seawater. The rise and fall of the waves moving in time to the beat of his heart. He'd forgotten it, somewhere around the time he'd forgotten what it was like to go to sleep without a bottle of whiskey in his hands… but he can remember it now. Even in the darkness Harley’s eyes glint and they’re so beautiful for a moment Peter can’t look away.

“It’s just…” she trailed off, hugging her arms and looking down at Luis’s collar to avoid meeting his face. “I don’t know…why you…put up with me,” she said quietly. “All I ever do is cause more problems for you. You give and have given me so much…but I don’t provide you with anything in return. Doesn’t it get exhausting, having to listen to me cry all the time?”
