“Tony, if you ask me that one more time,” Pepper lets the threat linger, unspoken, checking her neatly pinned up hair in the mirror above the bar to make sure there aren’t too many delicately curled locks falling loose. She looks as immaculate as ever, from the pristine arch of her eyebrows to her dark but not overdone eyeshadow, the subtle but present tint on her lips. It’s a bit more of a statement than her usual business look. “If I weren’t sure, I wouldn’t be standing here in stilettos wearing nothing under this robe but lace.”

Every singular piece of Tony’s outfit probably cost more than Peter’s whole closet. Everything in this room probably cost more than the tuition he’d be paying if not for his scholarship.
