None of the national, standardized tests were supposed to happen this month and even being two minutes late to one of those wouldn’t elicit this sort of reaction. They were discussing their career interest forms today, but that was it. Nothing time-critical was supposed to be happening.
“Midoriya, you were reported missing a week ago. No one has seen you for eight days. The police have been combing the city for you.”
"I’m sorry. What?”
Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.

The only thing he knows for sure is he’s awakened in a world that’s forgotten him, everything and everyone having changed and moved on.Homeless and on the run, robbed of his life and family, he has no choice but to learn to defend himself—and others—making friends, enemies, and a new family along the way—one he’ll do anything to protect, even it means dying and losing every semblance of himself, including the love of those he’s trying to save.
Vigilante!izuku au with found family, a descent into insanity/villainy, redemption, dadzawa, Dadbi, and a suicidal wannabe hero with no sense of self-preservation.
TLDR; in which immortality comes at a price Izuku isn’t willing to pay, but damn if he’ll let anyone else suffer for it.

"Sorry Eraserhead, gotta bounce," Izuku apologized. He gripped the edge of the windowsill as he began to lower himself out. They were at least on the tenth story- not ideal- but with enough determination, he was sure he'd be able to climb down or break into someone's place and use the stairs.
"Oh absolutely not," Eraserhead huffed. A second later the capture weapon had snapped around his waist and he was being pulled right back through his escape route. "We do not climb out windows," he reprimanded.
"I've seen you climb out windows," Izuku shot back, struggling against the scarf. The thing was maddeningly indestructible.
"You do not climb out windows," he corrected, emphasizing the word 'you' like Izuku was some petulant five-year-old. "Especially after I find out you in some ally on the brink of unconsciousness."
Annoyed, he shot the hero his best scathing look. "We've gotta move past this. It happened one time."
