Daniel should have left. He had a life. Staying could mean death and yet he could not bring himself to leave Armand in that moment, call it pity for the vampire that lost everything. He slowly learns more about the vampire he was living with, who trailed him like a puppy everywhere he went and eventually the two become closer than simple flatmates.

Summary
Buck has really, really bad luck. The call was normal, your standard routine fire rescue, until the floor collapsed beneath him.
The 118 quickly rushed to get an unconscious and wounded Buck to the hospital, unsure of how bad he was internally. He had a few visible broken bones and was beat up from the fall pretty badly but as they found him unconscious, it's harder to tell if anything was internally bad.
Eddie was in pieces knowing his partner was injured, he knew the risks of the job but never assumed he'd lose Buck, they were meant to spend their whole lives together!
Buck wakes fairly quickly after the hospital staff stabilise him and he was safely out of surgery. The crew was ecstatic, until they found out Buck couldn't remember any of them... The whole of their worlds come crashing down as the Buck they knew was no longer there, replaced by an insecure mess.
Will they ever get their Buck back? None of them could say for sure but Eddie sure as Hell wasn't giving up on him. Neither is any of the firefam. -

What if when new years hits every year from 13, you swap bodies with whoever the universe establishes as your soulmate until you find them for 24 hours to prepare yourselves for when you finally meet, if ever.
Evan Buckley has had the issue where he has been swapping with someone but it isn't a woman, like his parents assumed. He is afraid to admit that he is destined to be soulmates with a boy, he knows his parents only want the picket fence dream for him and his sister conformed of a man and woman married with children and a dog. Follow his journey till he meets the one he's meant to spend eternity with.
Eddie Diaz is a skeptial boy, he really hated the idea of soulmates. The whole idea of being forced to apparently be bound to someone for his whole life due to some unknown force just didn't fit him. But he didn't have a choice in swapping bodies, so he supposed he'd enjoy it. He was a little shocked to find it was a boy but he also knew he wouldn't mind dating a man, plus he wasn't going to listen to the whole soulmate system. He will love who he wants. Turns out that the person he was attempting to avoid ends up being the only one for him. The fates are never wrong... well, not often at least.

Buck has had his fair share of traumatic experiences, from a fire truck crushing his leg to a tsunami and almost losing his best friend's child.
He had dreams or nightmares about some of them for a while, but he could always escape it. Fire trucks weren't likely to re-crush his leg anytime soon and being around them daily helped him adjust easy enough and he could always avoid the ocean, although he was already over that trauma thanks to visiting the beach with Chris and Eddie on numerous occasions.
But what will he do now that he's stuck with a trauma he can't escape? Lightning never strikes the same place twice but it sure as Hell doesn't just avoid an area because someone there got hit by it. And thunderstorms didn't wait, they were random and sudden.Buck tries to hide his fear of lightning as he hears the first thunderstorm since his accident, unluckily for him, his firehouse family can read him like a book and soon enough he was being coddled and looked after by everyone there, including his biggest crush, Eddie Diaz.
A lot of chaos and arguing later, Buck finds himself curled up on the couch of the firehouse in Eddie's arms.
