It was quite the lovers spat, if gossip were to be believed. And, if Harry knew his guardians as well as he did, he believed that the gossip was a bit of an understatement.

It calls itself hope.
The Soldier thinks it might be something else, someone else, someone that he might have once been. He asks it how it survived, how it still exists, how did Hydra not destroy it?
