“So you’re just, like, fucking or something?”
“No! This oaf couldn’t last a round with me even if he wanted to.”
Not in front of the children, Shadow, Kojiro had been about to say, but the words die in his throat. Instead he turns to Kaoru slowly, fuming.
“Excuse me? What’s that supposed to mean, cinnamon stick?”
“It means you couldn’t handle me in bed,” Kaoru answers. He looks down his sharp slash of a nose at Kojiro, somehow, despite Kojiro’s height advantage.
“Well, maybe you couldn’t handle me!” Kojiro snaps.
“Doubtful,” Kaoru scoffs. He’s close now, close enough for Kojiro to see the angry line between his eyebrows, the irritated curl of his upper lip.
“Prove it!” Kojiro yells, stepping closer.
“Maybe I will.”

In all the years since the accident that caused Kaeya to lose his father and his sense of normalcy, he had never thought he'd forgotten something important. When he receives a letter asking him to watch over a boy named Diluc, he just assumes that he's going to be watching him for a few days like any other kid he'd babysat since he'd graduated high school. Instead he's informed he's been hired to watch over Diluc until his 18th birthday. The idea doesn't seem too bad at first considering the benefits. He'd have a roof over his head, food when he was hungry, and wouldn't have to worry about overworking his mother anymore.
Then he finds out just how deep Diluc's devotion to him runs and he goes from being just the boy's caretaker to being the boy's unwilling wife.

He put his hands in front of his face. They did not look like hands. He knew this because hands usually had thumbs and less fur. And no claws. He turned it over to examine his palm and found digital pads. Thick, reddish-brown hair covered his…he had to call them paws. There was dirt in them, which made him want to wince. He didn’t think he could wince anymore. He continued his examination of himself and discovered that he was, in fact, a wolf now. Or a dog. It was hard to tell when he couldn’t see his own face.
Diluc returns to Mondstadt, gets turned into a dog (wolf?), and tries to uncover Kaeya's nefarious plan to betray Mondstadt. Unfortunately it's rather hard to do the last one when he's a dog.
His solution? Get adopted by Kaeya.

A signature sly smile decorated his soft lips, his uncovered eye glimmered in dangerous curiosity as it locked onto the blond- no doubt the most interesting thing in the empty hall.
“Kaeya.” Albedo greeted in acknowledgement, his tone level and unbothered as he made his way towards the taller man.
