I was inspired by Sleuth Jesters, a fic you should absolutely read.
You swear that it started as a one and done thing. You would bring down the people who hurt you and move on with your life, whatever left of it there was. But then you saw the scope of the injustice, the corruption, everything that people kept turning a blind eye to. you couldn't let it slide. You couldn't turn a blind eye too. So you kept fighting.
Then of course those damned detectives got involved. And you'd be lying if you said you didn't love a good chase. You had a feeling they felt the same way. 'Course then one of 'em had to go and get shot.

Summary
You know more about freight operations than you ever though you would, that's what happens to a mechanics drop out kid. You've passed up "better" jobs because working over night at Fazco's Mega Pizza Plex is easy. You do your job, only your job, and you do it to a fucking T. You keep a couple guys in line, don't bother security and no one messes with you.
Why then, is that overgrown, betty spaghetti looking mother fucker of a "night guard" on your case? What about your clothes? This bitch in on.
Basically you are the worst scrunklo Moon has ever seen. A complete mess. At first he just wants you to either get fired(as you should) or follow the rules like everyone else. Somehow, in between the insults and the complete inability to care for yourself, you endear yourself to him. He thinks maybe the cost of a fixer upper might be worth it after all.

Or the story about; how a girl thought she was only pretending to be a boy for convenience, but he was really only pretending to be a girl out of fear, how you can count on your friends even when you can't count on yourself, how fear doesn't always keep you safe, and the mystical healing powers of Mexican food.
And also how maybe the rats of New York saved Spiderman's life but Deadpool is definitely taking credit for that.

Summary
A weary, passionless cherubim is called down to Earth to fix the mistake of a lower angel. One of "Cupid's arrows" has been misfired, they think it will be as simple extraction of the Divine and back to isolation of their "office."
However upon seeing the other Angels victim it's clear that the judgment they thought they'd come to might not be the right one. They need time to investigate see how the subject is affected by the Divine, why they appeared as a viable Target in the blessed sites and if he deserves to keep it. They need to judge if the measure of a mechanical soul is just as worthy as one born in flesh.
Sun doesn't know how or why this weird adult keeps getting into the daycare. Or why they seem so interested in him, but they keep coming back, keep asking him questions and no one's ever cared. So when he feels a little fuzzy on the edges, when they come back every day, when they seem delighted meeting Moon, when they show the same interest in his counterpart, they both start leaning a little closer, grinning a little wider, holding a little tighter, who can really blame them?
