This is a direct sequel to A Fresh Start, set a few months after that story’s ending. It follows up on character beats and plots and probably doesn’t make sense absent Fresh Start.
Six months after the wedding of Princess Mipha and Princess Consort Link, Link is happy with his life. Though he and the Champions lost their powers in the battle against the Calamity, Link is married to the girl of his dreams, and his restaurant - Link’s Links - constantly draws customers.But then Revali comes to the Domain with a request for Link, one that would take him outside the Domain to spend time with his least favorite Champion.
On his wife’s prodding, Link decides to help.

Summary
A resurrected and chastened Astor, fresh from his defeat in Age of Calamity, has eyes on a third timeline. Terrako (now known as the Egg), harsher and more seasoned after its victory against Astor, sends itself and two soldiers to protect this timeline. First is the Zelda from Breath of the Wild, who is desperate to atone for her negligence in failing to awaken her powers before the Calamity.
Second is her former knight Link, now known as the Fish Knight, who is angry at Zelda, because her negligence cost him a life with Princess Mipha.Amidst this shadow war, Link and Princess Mipha of this timeline deal with life and the impending Calamity as it comes. Though problems hound them from their roles as Princess, Champion, Zelda's Personal Knight, and Chosen One, Link and Mipha draw solace and purpose from their relationship with each other. They will fight to protect each other and the Domain. This is their story. Will they, their love, and those they love, survive?

It has been six months since Link, in training at Royal Hyrule Military Academy, has seen Mipha. During that time, his only word from her has been a series of epistles - letters he cherishes as reminders of his closest friend. He sends her letters, too, even though it causes many of his comrades-in-arms to think him rather strange. But there's a sense of disconnect between what he writes and what she writes in response. Never does she acknowledge anything he says, or respond to any of his queries, which leaves him feeling, though elated at her every correspondence, oddly empty inside. He doesn't understand why one who goes to such efforts to keep in contact would not go to the same lengths to even read the words that he has entrusted to her in reply.
Still, as a soldier, he swallows his confusion, attempting to push thoughts of Mipha from his mind as he goes about his duty. But when his duty is to escort ambassadors from a foreign land on a diplomatic mission to Hyrule Castle, his duty and Mipha collide in an unexpected way.Bookmarked by ThePastaLover
