Ciri’s eyes blazed with anger, but she nodded curtly anyway. “I won’t have to. You’ll win.”
“Maybe we will. Maybe we won’t. But the ballads will be extraordinary either way,” Jaskier said with a boyish grin that lit his entire face up.
“Ah yes. Of course you’re thinking of ballads right now,” Eist remarked playfully, shoving Jaskier’s shoulder.
“I am a bard, after all.”
“A magical bard,” Ciri remarked.
The people of Cintra would spread the word first. Of the thunderous marching of Nilfgaard on their capitol. Of Cintra’s Last Stand.
They would tell any travelers who passed through their gates in the following weeks, months, years, that their kingdom was saved by one True Bard with fiery hatred and sorrow in his heart for Nilfgaard. They would tell them that the Phoenix of Song, Sir Dandelion, razed General Cahir’s army to the ground. Emerged from the flames Remade, Other. Hen Ichaer.

Summary
He’d retired a long time ago, almost three decades, in fact, having figured that he at least deserved to pursue his passions in life after working so tirelessly for so many years. So he’d dropped off the face of the continent completely, armed himself with a glamour around his wrist, and started learning the Seven Liberal Arts in Oxenfurt, enjoying the increasingly wild rumours around his own disappearance and death.
That was when he’d stopped paying attention to what people were saying about who he’d been as Julian, the witcher who destroyed monsters with his swords and people with his wit, and that had apparently been his mistake.

Summary
“You Geralt of Rivia’s bard?”
Jaskier looks up from his notepad and grins at the man who’s just sat at the opposite side of the table.
“Technically, I used to be,” the bard says, taking a sip of his ale. “We had a tiny misunderstanding last year. I’m sure he’s gonna be fine, though, I’m just giving him some time to cool down and wallow in self-pity.”
Jaskier frowns, because his brain has finally caught up with his mouth and informs him that even though the man who asked the question is very pretty (and he is – a bit short, but lean and clearly very agile, brown-skinned, with dark, wavy hair and stunningly unnatural green eyes), he also has got two big, scary swords strapped to his back, way too many scars and has, in fact, only one green eye, the other being covered by an eye patch, presumably missing.
And then there’s the Cat school medallion on his chest.
As Geralt would say… fuck.

Geralt reached forward slowly, pushing the hair off of Jaskier’s face.
“How is this possible?” He asked.

Summary
Despite Jaskier's hard work, there are still plenty of people who hate witchers. They think they're monstrous, inhuman, only held back from violence by a thin veneer of control. One mage has a plan to spread his views by capturing a witcher and bewitching them to remove their control. When the Butcher of Blaviken walks into his hideout, he's convinced he's found the perfect candidate - and a convenient way to get rid of the pesky bard that's been singing his praises.
Jaskier is forced to agree witchers are not human, but that doesn't mean they're dangerous. In fact, he's astounded by how many of Geralt's uncontrolled impulses involve touching.
