"Yes, my foster-son," Elrond patted Aragorn on the back. It was a gesture that was so unlike any gesture of love in these recent years that Aragorn froze, locking eyes with Glorfindel who gave him a cheery grin and enthusiastic thumbs-up. "I am glad that your self-awareness has increased since your days of youth. It is you, after all, that is the oldest among us all."
On a fine sunny day in Imladris, Elrond attempts to decide who is the eldest among them.

Kaien is very confused and lost - not to mention in pain - and he thinks that he probably has a pretty hefty concussion. But the not being dead part is really kind of incredible, honestly.
One of the strangers steps up to him and he can hear his captain yell before falling into another coughing fit and shit he has to get up and move, but he can't , his body heavy and hurting and weak all at once. “Oi,” the second voice says, the one that the other had called Grimmjow, and then a hand rolls him around on his back. “You alive there, Shinigami?”
He stares into blue and sharp eyes, framed by green and he most definitely must have a concussion because the first thing he thinks is beautiful.
“What.” The person - Grimmjow - says and oh. Oh no. He said that out loud.

Summary
Ichigo and Unohana had been running through the Garganta for a while now, or rather, it felt like it had been a while. Ichigo couldn’t really tell, but he felt as though they had been running for longer than the first time he went through a Garganta. Though, perhaps that was because of who created this Garganta. It had not been Hat’n’clogs this time around. It was Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
OR Ichigo and Unohana are sent back 101 years to the time of the vizards becoming, well, the vizards.
