Viktor Nikiforov is the CEO of Nikiforov Co., one of the top people in business for years now. Yuuri Katsuki is an engineering grad student who works at a coffee shop in his free time, the son of billionaires Toshiya and Hiroko Katuski.
They meet when Viktor's dog nearly knocks Yuuri over in the park in the excitement to pounce on Yuuri's own dog. They quickly get along and start to spend more time together and text each other pictures of their dogs.
They might not realize quite everything about each other, though.

Summary
Viktor Nikiforov, crown prince of St. Petersburg, is engaged to marry Prince Katsuki, who is second to the throne in Hasetsu. When he arrives in Hasetsu to meet his betrothed, Prince Katsuki is ill - too ill to meet with him, or so says the royal family. While waiting to meet his betrothed, Viktor meets Yuuri in the gardens. He must work for the castle with how often he's there, and Viktor quickly realizes something bad - he's falling in love with Yuuri, despite being engaged to the prince.
At least Makkachin is enjoying Hasetsu and all of the unique wildlife. Hasetsu's got an odd quirk to a lot of their animals, it seems - there's a blue square pattern around their eyes.

It’s a relief when the road turns and Viktor’s cottage comes into view, letting him know he isn’t too far from home. In the warmer months Yuuri likes to run, and his treacherous feet often lead him past the familiar gate.
If there was a ranking of most desirable bachelors in town, Viktor Nikiforov would top it handily. With his handsome looks and sparkling smile, it’s always a treat when Yuuri passes his house on a run and sees him tending to his huge garden. Yuuri doesn’t often stop on these runs, an overwhelming shyness spiking at his heart, but every once in a while he’s bold enough. Once he even got to pet Viktor’s dog.
Viktor is probably curled up by the fire like any sensible person in this weather. Yuuri purposely avoids thinking about the lovely bower Viktor must have made inside; winter is the time alphas usually build them.
Distracted, his boot catches on a particularly slick patch of ice and he falls backwards with a startled “OOF!”
