t4t hollanov tboys play on the same hockey team in uni - out/early transition shane x stealth ilya
"This is Ilya Rozanov," Hayden says. "You might have to hospitalise him if you want to play center anytime soon."
"Noted," Shane says, sipping his drink to avoid that intense gaze.
"You are Shane Hollander, yes? I have heard of you."
"Yeah?" Shane feels himself bristle. His acceptance into a men's league last year as a trans man did get some low-level coverage. He stands straighter, ready for some insult about -
"Mm, yes. My friend took me to see final of your league last year. You scored big hat-trick to win game." He takes a slow sip of his clear drink. "But backhand is a bit weak."
"Weak backhand?" Shane scoffs.
"Yes. Is okay, I will teach you. Maybe let you play center once or twice during season."
"That's not happening." Shane feels anger running under his skin, but relief as well, that the guy was just chirping his hockey skills. "Thanks for your generous offer, though."

Summary
Hayden could not imagine someone losing that and their mother in the same day. It would age you. It would change you. Perhaps by the time Ilya had been thirteen, and fourteen, perhaps he had already been grown.
Hayden Pike grit his teeth because he knew he had been wrong. Ilya Rozanov had never just been an obnoxious hockey player with a colossal ego and nice smile - nice enough to entrap Shane Hollander, anyway - and now his hatred was mostly unfounded. He hated it when people were more complex than they seemed. It meant he had to change his mind.
Or
Five times people see the impact of Ilya growing up too fast, and one time a tiger becomes a boy again.

Summary
I’m smart in Russian. It fucking pisses me off—I sound like a toddler in English. The language simultaneously makes no fucking sense and is pathetically boring. It has no complexity, no richness, no nuance. It’s impossible to create the same layers of thought in English that I can in Russian. It’s as if I am trapped inside myself and can only use a megaphone held by a third grader to speak with him.
I want to say things to him that make no sense in English but would make him melt in Russian. My mother used to read poems by Pushkin to me when she tucked me in, and I want to read them to him, but every translation I find is fucking dull and stupid. He won’t even let me call him my “lover” because English has ruined that word. I hate English.
Or, Ilya tries to use poetry to get better at English.

Summary
“Is just an idea,” Ilya shrugged. “April Fools is next week. I post pictures from the wedding and see how long it takes for people to figure out it is not joke. All of the important people already know and it would be funny to watch the rest of the idiots try to figure it out.”
Over the years, they had made a game of suggesting outlandish ways they could come out. Eventually, they actually follow through on one of the ideas.
