Thick smoke blots out the light of the sun, leaving the smouldering heap formerly known as Mount Olympus painted in dusky tones. Ash languidly falls from the sky, reminiscent of the snow that had once coated the mountain. The incantation had cleaved Typhon into innumerable pieces, and the subsequent collapse of Olympus would ensure that he could never reassemble himself.

“There is something I have tried with some of my partners, and I’ve found it enjoyable enough to offer to share the experience with you.” Her fingers twitch as she hesitates, her lip caught between her teeth. Melinoë continues. “Of course, I wasn’t sure if I should ask such a thing of you given your… history and the nature of your punishment, but I—”
She stops, as if suddenly aware that she is rambling. Prometheus shakes his head, gesturing for her to continue.
“I would like for you to restrain me and then fuck me... While tied up, I mean,” she adds on quickly, that same flush crawling down her neck and the rest of her body.

Melinoë is the goddess of nightmares, and her nascent aspect unknowingly manifests itself when she rests from her mission to bring death to Chronos, the Titan of Time. She dreams of a dead city, a sea filled with spirits, and the snow-covered peaks of Olympus, teeming with enemies and challenges that mirror her descent into the Underworld. Only one figure seems to understand that their conflict is not real: Prometheus, the Titan of Foresight. He behaves as if he is aware that it is all a nightmare for the young goddess, yet there is something decidedly real about him. Had they met before? Was he dreaming too? And if so, why would they be joined in the same nightmare? He is not forthcoming with answers. Melinoë will resolve to find them herself.

Summary
Melinoë stares up at the sheer canopy of her bed.
She closes her eyes once again and tosses under the sheets to lay on her side. After a couple of minutes she shifts to lay on the other. She attempts to clear her mind like how she used to do during her meditation sessions with Hecate, back when she was just a girl. Yet nothing seems to calm her enough for sleep to take her and soon enough she is staring back again at the canopy above her.
